For secondary school age children through to adults, this 6-lesson developmental gymnastics course (includes 38 videos) is suitable from beginner to intermediate gymnasts. This course is practical-based, but is also a great education tool, which we hope would be particularly useful for anyone who might be interested in studying PE as a GCSE subject.  Also perfect for children working towards club badges.  The purchase includes access for up to 130 Students – £0.77 per student, free access for up to 5 teachers, accessible for 3 months (Sep to Nov, Dec to March, OR April to June)

This course includes 6 lessons taught by Kathryn Mills, experienced British Gymnastics qualified coach and can be used as a discrete lesson pack and part of a blended learning approach.  Courses are interactive and engaging with a combination of follow along practical videos, worksheets and quizzes throughout.

Course Overview
As well as step-by-step gymnastics video tutorials, this course includes conditioning work cards to help you practice in your own time, as well as illustrative worksheets and short quizzes for assisting your learning of fundamental gymnastics shapes, skills, muscle groups, types of movement and stretching.To ensure minimal risk of injury to you, this course only includes skills and activities that are recommended by the national governing body for gymnastics in the UK, for safe online learning and participation in your home. Never perform any activities that you feel are beyond your ability or will result in injury to you.

This course includes coaching of: principles of handstands, rolls, bridge, splits, balances, jumps, turns, strength and conditioning, developmental movement and flexibility activities.  No specialist gymnastics equipment is required, but it is necessary to have a comfortable floor surface to complete the practical elements of the course. e.g. a gymnastics floor mat / thick yoga mat / carpeted floor / rug / grass area. Your safety and well-being is priority, so please ensure you have ample space to participate in the practical elements of this course.

You will need access to the following household objects at different stages throughout the course:

  • A wall (not breakable or with any breakable objects attached to it)
  • A raised platform (e.g. a sturdy chair or sofa)
  • A rope or resistance band or scarf (or even a zip jacket or other long piece of clothing)

Where any of these are required, it will be stated in the introduction for the relevant lesson so you will be prepared in advance.  Each lesson will last approximately 60 minutes. The format of each lesson is as follows: Follow-along video tutorials…

It is expected that parents OR teachers (if completed in school) accept full responsibility to ensure the safety of their child while following gymnastics activities.

*Once purchased, please email to re-confirm the email address of the group leader you would like to manage the course and monitor student progress e.g. teacher/club leader.  Group leaders have the ability to add/edit users and are also provided with a GROUP CODE which they can give to students/members to register themselves.  Within the email you should also specify what months you require access e.g. Sep to Nov, Dec to March or April to June.

The course access/login details will be emailed to your group leader in advance of the term for intended use.  It can be purchased at any time during the academic year.
