Course Description
The course broadly follows the UK curriculum guidance for Key Stage 3 IT/Computer Science. The course runs on a 12 week term timetable, total 36 weeks over an academic year. The course has 12 lessons per term which can be completed at the individual’s pace and each lesson averages 60 minutes. The course aims to provide students with a broad knowledge and skill set in Information Technology and Computer Science for work and life, and provide a solid foundation for GCSE and further study in this subject area.
Hardware and Software Required: Access to the Internet, Speaker, Course Membership, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Printer (if you prefer to print worksheets and definition sheets), WIX (free online signup), NotePad (usually available on PCs)
Introduction to Image Representation, Sound, Data portability and file formats, Data compression and APPS. Working with Images and Video Editing (including practical activities and mini project)
Introduction to Multimedia Authoring, Web Design and E-Commerce
Practical learning in building a website using online software (including mini project)
Introduction to Networks and Network Security
Introduction HTML and key terminology
Practical learning in building a website using HTML (including mini project)
